This Privacy Policy explains how Lawn Buddy (“Lawn Buddy,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information through lbhunts.com and the In The Weeds Hunt and Equip Expo giveaways (the “Promotion”). Your use of a Lawn Buddy account created at pro.lawnbuddy.com is also governed by Lawn Buddy’s main terms and privacy policy.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: first and last name, email address, phone number, mailing address and, for the Military & First Responder Hunt, your service branch or agency. If you win, we also collect verification of service and tax forms.
- Information collected automatically: your IP address, the country you connect from, the date and time of your entry, and basic browser and device information. Our security provider, Cloudflare, uses a bot-detection check (Turnstile) that processes device and browser signals to confirm you’re a person.
- Social media posts: if you post Booth Bingo photos and tag @getlawnbuddy, we can see and may share those public posts.
How we use your information
- To run the Promotion: record and verify entries, prevent fraud and duplicate entries, select and verify winners, deliver prizes, and contact you by email, phone or text about drawings and prizes.
- To send you marketing emails about Lawn Buddy products, services, events, podcast episodes and future giveaways. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by emailing us.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as tax reporting for prize winners.
How we share your information
- With our sponsors and Promotional Partners. As part of entering, you agree that we may share your entry information (name, email, phone, mailing address and, if applicable, service branch) with the Promotion’s sponsors and Promotional Partners: Global Payments, Rose Lake Elk Ranch, SB Mowing and Walker Mowers, and the participating Equip Expo booth partners, including Mulch Mate, Senix and Stripe Life. They may use it to fulfill prizes and to send you information and offers about their own products and services. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and you can opt out of their communications directly with them.
- With service providers that help us operate the site and Promotion (for example, website hosting, data storage and email delivery by Cloudflare). They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Publicly, for winners: as described in the Official Rules, we may announce winners’ names, cities and states, and share photos from the hunt or trip.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Lawn Buddy, our users or others.
We do not otherwise sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Marketing emails: unsubscribe using the link in any email.
- Sponsor communications: opt out directly with the sponsor that contacted you.
- Access, correction or deletion: email hello@lawnbuddy.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” Deleting your information before a drawing withdraws your entry. We can’t retrieve information that has already been shared with sponsors, but we will tell you who received it.
Your state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and share, to access it, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information or its use for targeted advertising. Sharing your entry information with Promotional Partners for their marketing may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some of these laws. To exercise any of these rights, including opting out of sharing with Promotional Partners going forward, email hello@lawnbuddy.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals where required.
Data retention & security
We keep entry information for as long as needed to run the Promotion, fulfill prizes and meet legal and tax obligations. We keep marketing contact information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Promotion is open only to people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.
